On September 7, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade (DOIT), in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), successfully organized the “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Awards 2023” in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was honored by the presence of leaders from DOIT, representatives of the U.S. Consulate General, USAID, as well as delegates from relevant agencies, business communities, and media organizations. The ceremony recognized 13 outstanding enterprises for their successful implementation of sustainable and effective energy-saving measures, significantly contributing to reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Launched on May 31, 2023, the Awards have created a strong impact within the business community, especially among key energy-using facilities across the city.
The Awards are evaluated based on four key criteria:
Efficient and economical use of energy
Sustainability
Exemplary practices
Innovation and creativity
This initiative not only serves as a meaningful recognition of corporate efforts but also acts as a driving force to encourage further progress in energy efficiency and conservation. It contributes directly to achieving the objectives set out in the HCMC Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan 2021–2025, with a vision toward 2030, as well as supporting the implementation of Vietnam’s National Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation 2019–2030 and the country’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy.
