VIoT PARTICIPATES IN THE 16th VIETNAM – SINGAPORE MINISTERIAL MEETING ON ECONOMIC CONNECTIVITY

From December 1–3, 2022, VIoT was honored to attend the 16th Vietnam–Singapore Ministerial Meeting on Economic Connectivity held in Singapore. The event was co-chaired by Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Nguyễn Chí Dũng, and Singapore’s Second Minister for Trade and Industry and Minister for Manpower, Mr. Tan See Leng.

Joining the Vietnamese delegation were representatives from three leading technology startups — Genetica, VIoT, and Earable — all of which have made significant contributions to Vietnam’s startup ecosystem. This event served as an important platform for Vietnamese enterprises to connect with Singaporean and U.S. businesses based in Singapore, fostering collaboration across key sectors such as industry, innovation, high technology, digital transformation, smart cities, green finance, energy, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, commerce, and tourism.

With the participation of over 120 delegates and business leaders, including representatives from major global corporations such as Apple, Abbott, Bank of America, Harley-Davidson, Moody’s, Salesforce, UPS, KPMG, Meta, and Raytheon Technologies, as well as many prominent Singaporean enterprises, VIoT had the opportunity to engage, exchange, and learn from global partners on its journey to develop green technology applications and platforms for Smart Cities.

Through this Ministerial Meeting, Vietnam reaffirmed its commitment and strategic vision for deepening economic cooperation with Singapore, emphasizing the importance of implementing new initiatives within the framework of the Vietnam–Singapore Economic Connectivity Agreement. The Vietnamese side also encouraged Singaporean enterprises to propose new cooperation projects and increase investments in Vietnam.

The Vietnam–Singapore Economic Connectivity Agreement, signed in 2005, is a comprehensive bilateral cooperation program focused on six key areas: finance; education and training; transportation; information and communications technology; investment; and trade and services. To date, both sides have agreed to expand cooperation into new fields such as innovation and renewable energy — sectors that align with each country’s strengths and development priorities.
